Biomanufacturing and Canada’s Pandemic Preparedness
Date: November 13th, 12-1:30PM

Event Summary

The COVID-19 pandemic has had devastating effects on Canadians and their livelihoods. In September 2024, the Federal government announced the creation of Health Emergency Readiness Canada (HERC) to provide a sustained focus on growing innovation and industrial capacity in the life sciences and biomanufacturing sector to support Canada’s health emergency readiness.

The Canadian Pandemic Preparedness Hub (CP2H) is one of five hubs created by the Government of Canada through the integrated Canada Biomedical Research Fund (CBRF) and the Biosciences Research Infrastructure Fund (BRIF). The hub is a network that brings together industry, academia, government, and healthcare institutions to expand Canada’s domestic capacity to develop and manufacture vaccines and therapeutics to prevent and respond to emerging health threats.

Join us as we explore the critical role of biomanufacturing and clinical development in pandemic preparedness.
