Dr Geneviève Tanguay has been appointed VP research, creation and innovation at the Univ of Montreal. Tanguay was most recently assistant DM for research, innovation, science and society at the Quebec Ministry of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade — a position she held since January/07. Prior to entering government, she held a variety of academic positions including VP development for the Centre québécois de valorisation des biotechnologies, VP of the Société pour la promotion de la science et de la technologie, executive secretary, head of communications at the Fonds pour la formation de chercheurs et l'aide à la recherché and senior planning analyst at the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council.
